The sky really is the limit when it comes to the way Beverley Building Society supports its Charity of the Year! So when Hull & East Yorkshire Mind gave us the opportunity to take on a Skydive, two of our amazing members of staff jumped (pun definitely intended!) at the chance to be involved.
Clearly adrenaline junkies, Sam Hancock from our Accounts department and Sasha Travis from the Savings team both signed up to do a tandem jump with an instructor on Sunday 15 June 2025 at Skydive GB Parachute Club in Bridlington, to raise vital funds for Hull and East Yorkshire Mind.
They are both bravely committed to this amazing fundraising activity, as Sam told us: “Hull & East Yorkshire Mind is a great cause, so I really wanted to make a difference – but being able to fundraise through a Skydive is the icing on the cake, so it’s a win-win really!” Sasha added: “Having people in my life who’ve faced mental health challenges has shown me how important support is. MIND gives people a lifeline to get the help and support they so deserve.”
Hull and East Yorkshire Mind has been supporting mental health and wellbeing in our communities since 1976. Last year alone, the charity supported over 25,000 people with their mental health. They do this through counselling, group support, housing and more.
As an independent charity within the Mind federation, the charity offers high-quality, accessible, and person-centred support to ensure everyone feels safe and understood on their mental health journey. They work to change attitudes about mental health, combat stigma, and empower people to seek the help they deserve.
We hope that you might consider helping Team BBS to raise vital funds to provide high quality mental health support to those who need it most in our region – it takes seconds, simply donate now at our dedicated JustGiving page.
