Our loyal members and visitors to Beverley’s Saturday Market, witnessed some competitive cycling outside of our branch during the week of Monday 10th June 2024, as we held a cycling marathon in aid of Yorkshire Cancer Research.

Once again, we would like to say a huge thank you for the overwhelming generosity of Society members and our local community, as donations flowed into the buckets. As a result, and after match-funding by the Society, the initiative raised £2,200!

Each year, 31,000 people are diagnosed with cancer in Yorksire, so this Bike Challenge follows our team’s particpation in Yorkshire Cancer Research’s own ‘We Walk for Yorkshire’ campaign, which invited people to walk a collective 31,000 miles in May.

Yorkshire Cancer Research exists so that more people can live longer healthier lives, free of cancer. In addition to funding world-leading experts who are discovering new ways to treat cancer, the charity pioneers exercise programmes to help people with cancer prepare for and recover from treatment.

You can still donate to our 2024 Charity of the Year Campaign and lend your support to Yorkshire Cancer Research at our dedicated Just Giving page, where you’ll see the total raised at any given time.

And keep an eye on the Society’s social media to see what else is planned to support Yorkshire Cancer Research for the rest of the year. Alternatively for information on Beverley Building Society’s products and services visit our home page.
