We hope you can join us on Wednesday 28 August, from 10am onwards, to support our latest fundraiser, ‘Donate 4 Cake’. Just pop into our branch, in the town’s Saturday Market and make a much-needed donation in return for a delicious cupcake.

Alternatively if you can’t make it but would still like to donate simply visit our dedicated Just Giving page and your donation is sent directly to the Charity! Plus we’ll be match-funding the total amount raised for double the impact! We’ll be in party mode on the day – with the Charity’s bunting, balloons and staff members wearing the blue and yellow aprons of Yorkshire Cancer Research – because let’s face it: who doesn’t like cake?!

It’s been a busy year for Team BBS with some pretty significant fundraising activities, as part of our 2024 Charity of the Year Campaign. So we’re delighted that, thanks to extremely motivated colleagues and the incredible generosity of our members and local community, we’ve raised a whopping £10,787 to date!

And since so many people nowadays have experienced cancer, or know someone who has, Team BBS is committed to making a positive difference to this important cause – and keep putting the ‘fun’ into fundraising in the process.

Did you know that each year, 31,000 people are diagnosed with cancer in Yorkshire and Yorkshire Cancer Research exists so that more people can live longer healthier lives, free of the disease. In addition to funding world-leading experts who are discovering new ways to treat cancer, the Charity pioneers exercise programmes to help people with cancer prepare for and recover from treatment.

A huge thank you to Cooplands Bakery, which is kindly donating the baked goods for the day and which were keen to sponsor the event and help to raise vital funds. A representative of the company told us:

Finally, don’t forget to follow us on social media to see how much we raise from the event, and many of our latest developments as they happen.
