Charity Quiz Night cancelled – but you can still enter the Raffle in branch to win fantastic prizes!

Quiz Night Cancelled!

Unfortunately, due to a unforseen circumstances, we have regretfully had to cancel our Charity Quiz Night, which was due to be held at the Beverley Rugby Club, on Friday 25 November 2022.

The latest in a sustained programme of events, the Quiz was designed to raise vital income for our Charity of the Year, the Beverley Cherry Tree Community Centre. However, for a number of reasons, including the fact that an England football match is now taking place on the same evening, it has been difficult to attract interest.

Beverley Building society is committed to supporting Cherry Tree’s incredible work and will therefore be making a further donation of £1,000 to the Centre to compensate for the cancellation of the event.

Since 1993, the Centre has been a base for local residents, from children to pensioners and those in need of help. It offers a host of important services, from free advice and a food bank, to a youth club and a Little Gruffalos pre-school nursery. The Centre, that promotes a website motto of: “When you don’t know where to turn, we can help you or find someone who can” provides a vital lifeline to vulnerable local people. You can read more about the support it provides via the charity’s website here.
