Support Beverley Building Society in Dove House Hospice’s It’s A Knockout on 22 July 2023!

As you know the team at BBS are always up for a challenge and never more so than this year…

That’s why we’re extremely excited to announce that, as part of the fundraising campaign for our 2023 Charity of the Year, Dove House Hospice, we’re entering a Beverley Building Society Team into one of their biggest annual events – It’s A Knockout!

It’s A Knockout – what’s it all about?

This year the event takes place on Saturday 22 July 2023, on the field at the rear of the Hospice, at Chamberlain Road, Hull, HU8 8DH. No less than 36 teams will compete to see which one will be the champion of a huge inflatable obstacle course – so make sure to keep an eye on our social media for some hilarious photos on the day!

Why are we doing it?

Well we’re not just doing this just for fun – although it will certainly be that! – we’re raising vital funds to ensure that Hospice care is maintained.

Dove House Hospice provides expert specialist care to adults living with progressive life limiting illnesses including, but not limited to, cancer, neurological illnesses, heart diseases and respiratory diseases. Patients don’t just visit for end of life care either but are referred to the hospice for many reasons, including pain and symptom management, respite, psychological support and family support, to help “life to be added to days when days can no longer be added to life”.

For many patients and their families, getting a referral to Dove House is scary. Teams of nurses, doctors, healthcare assistants and therapists work with patients as individuals, finding out what they enjoy, what helps them to feel safe and what makes them feel themselves.
